Ablett salary concern

Geelong premiership captain Tom Harley admits it would destabilise the group if Gary Ablett stayed at the club on a much larger wage than the rest of the side.
Ablett is still weighing up whether to take up a lucrative offer with the Gold Coast Suns, or to stick with the Cats on an increased pay packet.
The club sought third party arrangements to try to lure Ablett into staying, in a bid to match the offer by the Suns.
While fans want Ablett to stay at the Cats, Harley has told SEN if his wage is much higher than everyone else, there will be problems.
"I think if Geelong stretch their budgets to pay him that much more than everyone else, that would more than likely destabilise the club more than him actually leaving," Harley said.
"Bomber runs this club a bit like Cuba, a bit like a Socialist society. He likes everyone on the same pecking. I don't think he'd stand for a player getting paid that much more than the rest of the guys."
