Blue wins Rd.19 Rising Star Nomination

Carlton youngster Jeff Garlett is the AFL Rising Star nominee for round 19 after a sensational performance in his side's massive victory over Essendon on Friday night.
Garlett was among the Blues' best in the 76-point thrashing of the Bombers, kicking six goals and gathering 16 disposals.
"Jeff was fantastic on Friday night and he well and truly deserves this nomination," Carlton coach Brett Ratten said.
"He has worked extremely hard on his game this season and we are really pleased with his development as an AFL player."
