Fantasy Footballer Award - Round 6

By Footy Utopia on Fri, 13/05.2011

Dogmat gives player votes based on their performance in both DT & SC, value for price, expectations, selection popularity and other fantasy footy factors …

West Coast v Melbourne

5 – Sam Butler (WCE)
After sucking in fantasy footy coaches for years, he finally played a game worthy of the 3-year hype

4 – Dean Cox (WCE)
Rewarded any coach who made him partial and then full captain

3 – Jack Darling (WCE)
Big Jack is making a lot of fantasy coaches cash and many recruiters squirm

2 – Brad Ebert (WCE)
This game was definitely an aberration

1 – Matt Priddis (WCE)
The Golden Fleece had 33 touches – unfortunately 24 of them were handballs

North Melbourne v PortAdelaide

5 – Todd Goldstein (Nth)
The dominant ruckman - 35 hitouts, 22 touches and 7 tackles

4 – Hamish Hartlett (Port)
Playing a lone hand 2 weeks in a row for Port

3 – Michael Firrito (Nth)
The dour defender enjoyed a bit of junk time possession

2 – Sam Wright (Carl)
Has been asked to pull the finger out and responded with a great game inflate by his 3.4 goals – most of them coming late

1 – Brent Harvey (Nth)
Boomer had a great game, particularly in SC

Adelaide v St Kilda

5 – Nick Dal Santo (StK)
The only Saint playing up to his level – 29 touches, 6 marks, 6 tackles and 1 goal

4 – Luke Thompson (Adel)
A great game by the rookie in the bubble which netted his coaches $40K+ this week in both DT & SC

3 – Kurt Tippett (Adel)
Contested mark KING – starting to pay back some of the early promise

2 – Chris Knights (Adel)
Been holding his own and his 3 goals helped his SC score and win the game for the Crows

1 – Sam Jacobs (Adel)
The ex-Blues ruckman starred – Sauce had 33 hitouts and 13 possessions

Collingwood v Western Bulldogs

5 – Andrew Krakouer (Coll)
Moved into the middle after Johnson’s injury – 26 touches and 2 goals – most of them in junk time

4 – Cameron Wood (Coll)
Woody from Toy Story 3 had a good fantasy score even though he had the record hitouts scored against him

3 – Steele Sidebottom (Coll)
Was BOG on Sunday night … outscored everybody in DT and SC

2 – Will Minson (WBD)
Record number of hitouts helped inflate his score this week

1 – Leigh Brown (Coll)
Won the match off his own boot with 3 goals when the game was there to be won- massive SC score

Carlton v Sydney

5 – Shane Mumford (Port)
Massive game by the Slop King

4 – Chris Judd (Carl)
Best half of contested footy I have ever seen – a clinic

3 – David Ellard (Carl)
His late start means he has gone under the radar – one of the last good bargains left – on the bubble

2 – Ed Curnow (Carl)
Proving the Curlow theory is a good one – still hasn’t played a bad game

1 – Marc Murphy (Carl)
Smurph was super in the wet and Judd’s game overshadowed how good he played

Richmond v Brisbane

5 – Robin Nahas (Rich)
If you picked this guy at the start of the year give yourself a golden star – 138 in DT and 149 in SC

4– Nathan Foley (Rich)
The midget with no feet had 40 touches – and even 12 with his feet

3 – Tom Rockliff (Bris)
Fast becoming my hard luck trade out story – the next fantasy footy star

2 – Dustin Martin (Rich)
Look up young Clark Kent and you will find a picture of Dustin Martin wearing glasses

1 – Bachar Houli (Rich)
30 touches and 7 marks – maybe Matty “Johnny Deadtooth” Knights couldn’t coach after all

Essendon v Gold Coast

5 – Kyle Reimers (Ess)
An 8 goal performance that reminded Ticker and I of a certain Simon Beaumont game

4 – Ben Howlett (Ess)
In great form lately, 29 touches and 7 tackles

3 – Brent Stanton (Ess)
The perfect opponent and game for a “far” outside receiver

2 – Cale Hooker (Ess)
Finding his niche in that Bombers backline and starting to pluck quite a few marks

1 – Jobe Watson (Ess)
At one stage we thought his own teammates started tackling him to stop him from the ball

Player Tally:
15 – Dean Cox (WCE)
15 – Dane Swan (Coll)
14 – Ed Curnow (Carl)
13 – Nathan Fyfe (Freo)
13 – David Mundy (Freo)
11 – Scott Pendlebury (Coll)
11 – Jobe Watson (Ess)
11 – Jimmy Bartel (Geel)
11 – Jed Adcock (Bris)
11 – Dyson Heppell (Ess)
10 – Shane Mumford (Syd)
10 – Marc Murphy (Carl)
10 – Chris Dawes (Coll)
10 – Bryce Gibbs (Carl)
