No more sleepless nights for Jetta

After 20 consecutive points and one disallowed goal, Sydney's first year rookie Lewis Jetta finally kicked his first AFL goal against the Hawks. Team mates came from everywhere and the home crowd rose to their feet and gave him a standing ovation.
This video was forwarded to me today - it's a cracker. There's little doubt Lewis is going to be a very good player for many years, however, his celebration shows exactly how much pressure he must have been under to equal Rodney Carter's record for the Swans.

the way the commentators went hard hard each time jetta touched the ball was nothing short of pathetic. on the weekend it didnt matter; the behinds he kicked werent the difference between the two sides - hawthorn were useless! would they have applauded him for his continued inaccuracy had the scoreline been a lot closer? 20 straight behinds is not something that one should be proud about - his goal kicking accuracy is around 4~5%, hardly a statistic you expect from an AFL player making 100~200k per year!!!

Grant - sorry to jump to conclusions, but you must be a Hawthorn supporter. You miss the point a little, the contest was over which made the situation the only exciting plot line.
Jetta is actually an excellent kick for goal, especially on the run. A quick search of his U18 and WAFL highlights on youtube show this, all the more reason his misses became a saga and contributed to a build up of tension. He could conceivably kick the next 20 straight.
Also, as a first year, first round draft pick he'd be on a manditory 2 year contract worth about 60k pa.
