The soon to be 17th team in the AFL has released their name and uniform to general ambivalence. Is it just me, or does it seem like no one really cares?

No doubt the Jason Akermanis story ambushed their carefully planned launch and averted the attention of the footy community. But even still, as much as the AFL and GC17 has tried to inject hype and enthusiasm into the new franchise, we're being left a little cold.

Could it be resentment caused by the generous concessions they've been afforded, or a general feeling of irrelevance to their current status in the league?

Perhaps when the action starts in 2011 we'll begin to form stronger opinions.
