Wray’s Weekly Wrap: Opening
By Andrew Wray on Mon, 28/03.2011Every Monday I will be writing up a weekly wrap up full of sports results and what happened in the world of sports. I’ll try and cover as many as time allows me, as well as post other articles throughout the week, touching on some things that I’d like to talk about more in-depth, so the weekly report doesn’t get so congested.
This week will be a very lite and brief version as I have been tight for time and I thought I’d just give you an idea of how this will run down every week. I will try and go into more detail next week.
AFL
The weekend hosted the first round of AFL Footy for the season with mixed results most predictable but some where unexpected, even in the first round of footy a rare draw had appeared.
Carlton: 14.20.104
Richmond 13.6.84
Geelong: 6.12.48
St. Kilda: 6.11.47
Collingwood: 24.11.155
Port Adelaide: 12.8.80
Adelaide: 16.9.105
Hawthorn: 12.13.85
Brisbane: 14.8.92
Fremantle: 13.16.94

The biggest upset for the round was Hirdy’s Bombers demolishing the Bulldogs.
English Premier League
There was no English premier league action on the weekend due to internationals, however next weekend there will be.
West Ham Utd v Man Utd
Birmingham v Bolton
Everton v Aston Villa (Match of the round)
Newcastle v Wolverhampton
Stoke City v Chelsea
West Brom v Liverpool
Wigan v Tottenham
Arsenal v Blackburn
Fulham v Blackpool
Man City v Sunderland
The race for the Premier League title heats up while at the other end, it seems week by week more and more teams are avoiding the relegation zone while others struggle for survival.
Formula 1
The start of the Formula 1 season has begun in Melbourne last weekend with Sebastian Vettel taking out pole position and the first place while Australian Mark Webber qualified third but dropped down to fifth on race day. Hamilton followed in second taking 18 points while Petrov rounded out the top 3, claiming 15 points.
Premier League Darts
It’s the time of year where the Premier League Darts are held and the competition is about midway through, with world number 1 Phil “The Power†Taylor taking out world number 2 James Wade to take Phil Taylor to an outright first position on the Premier League darts table. Next round will see Phil Taylor take on rival Raymond van Barneveld which no doubt will be a great watch as always.
Cricket
The ICC World Cup is coming to a close as we head into the semi-finals with Pakistan coming up against India and New Zealand taking on Sri Lanka. I have my tips on India and Sri Lanka.
