EPL's 13 Best Performers So Far | Thebigtip

The EPL season has begun and we have seen a lot of good performances so far this season. Many players and teams have performed exceptionally well. Here is the list of the top 13 performers of the EPL sides so far this season:

13. Danny Welbeck
Club: Manchester United
Age: 20  
Appearances: 8
Goals: 5
Assists: Nil
Position: Striker

Welbeck just can’t stop scoring. Welbeck was excellent last season with Sunderland, but no one expected the 20 year old to make such an impact this season. He was instrumental in United’s win over Norwich and was impressive in United’s tie against F.C. Basel last week. If he continues his excellent form he may end United’s 24 year quest to produce an Old Trafford home-groomed striker for a regular first team role.

12. Gabriel Agbonlahor
Club: Aston Villa
Age: 24

Position: Forward

Agbonlahor is a product of Aston Villa’s youth academy and is currently the longest serving player at Villa Park. He is also Aston Villas’s second highest Premier League goal scorer of all time with 52 goals. The 24 year old did not score many goals last season as then Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier preferred to use him as a winger, but this season he is in tremendous form. It’s because of his form that Villla are still unbeaten this season and it won’t be long before he regains his place in the England national side.
     
11. Charlie Adam
Club: Liverpool

Position: Central Midfielder

Charlie Adam can be seen as an ideal replacement for Xabi Alonso - he is an excellent passer, a great playmaker, can play the long ball very well and also a god set-piece taker. Adam has performed exceptionally well for Liverpool so far and even though he has not yet proven as skilled or flawless like Gerrard,  the 25 year old could be a vital player for Liverpool this season. The Scottish international joined Liverpool at the start of the season for 7 million pounds and surely has the ability to became a world-class midfielder.

10. Emmanuel Adebayor
Club: Tottenham Hotsupr

Position: Striker

Adebayor is one of the most energetic players in world football. He was been plating quite well for Spurs lately and has formed an impressive partnership with Jermaine Defoe.  He is ypunger and much better than Peter Crouch and the 27 year old played a vital role in Tottenham’s 2-1 victory over Arsenal.  Adebayor is everything that Tottenham could have hoped and he can do wonders for the North London club.
     
9. Juan Mata
Club: Chelsea
Age: 23

Assists: 1
Position: Winger/ Attacking Midfielder

His stats may not be impressive but Mata is a class player. He has influenced the play really well and looks like the player Chelsea were missing last season. Mata is Chelsea’s best signing of the season and has adapted to the EPL very quickly. The 23 year old scored his first goal for the club just 24 minutes into his debut. Mata can also be seen as a long-term replacement for Frank Lampard , who is entering the twilight of his career.

8. Edin Dzeko
Club: Manchester City
Age: 25

Position: Striker

Dzeko joined City in January but it wasn’t until April that he scored his first EPL goal. The Bosnian striker found it difficult to adapt to the demanding game of the EPL. This season he has blown out of the doors for Manchester City and there has been a turn-around in the form of the striker . The 25 year old scored four goals against Tottenham last month, which made him the first ever City player to score four goals in a single game and he also won the Player Of The Month award for August.
     
7. Samir Nasri
Club: Manchester City

Position: Attacking Midfielder

Nasri started the season where he ended the last one. Some thought that the 24 year old wouldn’t be able to play with David Silva at Manchester City, but the French international proved his critics wrong. With great vision, blistering pace and the ability to read and understand the game, Nasri has become a phenomena at Manchester City.

6. Luis Nani
Club: Manchester United
Age: 24
Appearances: 8
Goals: 5
Assists: 4
Position: Winger

Nani is rapidly becoming a top player in the EPL and is every bit as crucial to United’s success this season as striker Wayne Rooney or their captain Nemanja Vidic. Nani has scored some wonderful goals this season like the one against Chelsea and is improving with each and every game. If United are to win multiple trophies this season then they will need Nani to continue his impressive form.
     
5. Luis Suarez
Club: Liverpool
Age: 24

Position: Striker

Suarez is the most under-rated striker in the EPL. Suarez is currently Liverpool’s best player and has already scored five goals this season. Suarez has got quick feet, a great dribbling ability and never stops running. He is also a set-piece specialist. The 24 year old is very unpredictable and has been involved in the majority of goals Liverpool have scored while he has been on the pitch.
     
4. David Silva
Club: Manchester City
Age: 25

Position: Winger/Attacking Midfielder

Silva started this season in stunning form by scoring in the first match of the season against Swansea and in the following week against Bolton, the 25 year old was named the man of the match. Silva was also named the Player of the Month(September) and his manager Roberto Mancini even compared him to his Spanish teammates - Xavi and Iniesta. He may not be on the scoreboard in every match but his role as a playmaker for the City attack makes him an integral part of Mancini’s team

3. Ashley Young
Club: Manchester United

Position: Winger

Ashley Young is proving to be Alex Ferguson’s best signing of the summer. Young’s excellent relationship with Rooney and Nani on the field has really helped the club and the 26 year old has surely shown his worth. Young’s hunger for trophies and his ability to control the game has already made him an integral part of the team. The England international make United stronger, both in the league and Europe
     
2. Sergio Aguero
Club: Manchester City

Aguero made an outstanding debut for Manchester City, scoring twice and setting up another one in their 4-0 victory over Swansea City. The 23 year old has started the season in incredible form and has since established himself as one of the leading goalscorers in the EPL. He can be seen as an excellent replacement for Carlos Tevez. Aguero is characterized by agility, acceleration and is describes as menace in the box.

Without a doubt, Wayne Rooney is in excellent form. Rooney provides the link between United’s midfield and attack and is United’s most important player. Rooney is as important to United as Messi is to Barcalona. In the presence of Rooney, United are flawless but without him , they struggle a lot. Rooney is one of the favourites to win the Golden Boot award and if he continues his stunnig form then the England international will surely win it.
