Blame takes out the Whitney while Zenyetta goes 18 from 18
By Tony Gold on Tue, 10/08.2010Well Musket Man tried his heart out pressuring Quality Road into the straight during the Whitney Handicap but Quality Road showed all his class only to get nailed by new kid on the block Blame. Musket Man wound up finishing a gallant third.
Not the result we were looking for but did pick you the triple and its fair to say Musket Man just isn't as good as the other two horses. Blame went off at about 3 to 1 and the triple paid about $40.00. Quality Road looks set for the Woodward in Saratoga on September 4th and Blame set for the October 2nd Jockey Gold Cup. Both will then be set for the Breeders Cup Classic.

In the previous race called the "Test" a very good horse I saw running at Belmont won again in style making it three in a row! Champayne D'oro, a nice 3yo filly smoked them by 4 and half lengths and showed a ton of fight leading most of the way. I wish I had seen this before writing my article as I'd have tipped you all on it after seeing it win well at the Belmont Stakes. It paid nicely at about 6 to 1. There is a good chance it will be running again on the 28th of August in the Grade 1 Ballerina. Put this one in your black book.
On Sunday super mare Zenyetta made it 18 from 18 starts although she just got there at there at Del Mar you don't need to draw pictures! She went off at 1-9 and will race one more time before shipping east for the Breeders Cup.
Another horse for the black book is a horse called Majestic Perfection who has now won five straight with a big win in the Grade 250,000 Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap. He took care of good field including Big Drama, Gayego and Bribon over the 6 furlong race in the time of 1:08.63. Nice going and will be on him next time out if the price is right.
Friday sees the running of the Group 2 Hall of Fame for 3yo's and Saturday the Group 1 Sword Dancer. I'll be taking a look at both fields so stay tuned as I'll be hoping to find us a nice winner at a big price. There's plenty of racing left in Saratoga with big races such as the Alabama on August 21st and the Travers on the 28th along with two other Group 1's and a Group 2 and Group 3 also that day.
Stay tuned and have a good week folks!
