MRC announces exciting race series for Mares

The Mebourne Racing Club, under their new CEO, Alasdair Robertson in conjunction with sponsor Sportingbet Australia has developed an exciting three-race sprint series for mares, with a $50,000 bonus attached, this new series will be launched on Saturday at Caulfield.
The 2010 Sportingbet Sprint Series races are;
Heat 1 - Saturday 28th August, Memsie Stakes Day $70,000 - Open Mares Handicap (1100 metres)
Heat 2 - Saturday 18th September, Underwood Stakes Day $125,750 Group 3 How Now Stakes (1200 metres)
Final - Saturday 9th October, The Age Caulfield Guineas Day $100,500 Listed Northwood Plume Stakes (1200 metres)
To be eligible for the $50,000 bonus, a horse must win either heat 1 or heat 2 and the series final on The Age Caulfield Guineas Day.*
Heat 1, to be run on Saturday at Caulfield, has attracted a strong list of 38 nominations including Avenue, Cat’s Pyjamas and Irish Lights who won the 2009 Schweppes Thousand Guineas.
