Andy Murray believes Novak Djokovic is unlikely to dominate the men’s game again in 2012, after a sensational year in which he picked up three Grand Slam titles.

The Serbian enjoyed a stellar year in 2011, which started with victory at the Australian Open, where he beat Murray in the Melbourne final. Those looking at the men's tennis betting will be wondering if he can do the same again.

Djokovic continued to dominate and won his second Slam of the year, when defeating Rafael Nadal to win at Wimbledon for the first time and soon after replaced the Spaniard at the top of the world rankings.

The 24-year-old then secured the US Open title in the Autumn, against beating Nadal in the final, as he capped an unbelievable campaign.

Prior to the ATP World Tour Finals, Djokovic had lost just four matches all season and shook up the men’s game, which had been dominated by Nadal and Roger Federer in recent years.

The Serbian ace is likely to go into the 2012 Australian Open as the strong favourite, as he seeks to secure a third title in Melbourne.

But Murray, still looking for his first Grand Slam, is confident that Djokovic will not be able to dominate in the same way next year. Those looking at the Australian Open betting odds may want to bear this in mind.

The British number one said: "Like Barcelona in football... they're the best team, but to win back-to-back Champions Leagues, even though you're the best, it's so tough, the margins are so small."

He added: "I didn't match up (to Djokovic) in Australia. I was disappointed with that match and I had to learn from that and realise why I didn't that day.

"I feel like it is pretty even in a lot of respects. This year he has really carried it through."
