Rogers Cup final prediction
By Mark Skendaris on Sun, 15/08.2010Andy Murray (GBR) v Roger Federer (SUI)
A great way to end the week in Toronto with the two best hardcourt players making the final. Murray handled an out-of-sorts Nadal in his semi while Federer found some new found grit and determination to edge the unlucky Djokovic. These two have played 11 times with Federer winning six of them. More importantly, the Swiss master has won their last three encounters after many thought the Brit may have Federer’s measure. In their last match, the Australian Open final, Federer was able to assert his himself early in the contest and did not allow Murray to find any rhythm. If he takes the same approach here he will get the chocolates once again and continue his hot streak against the steady Scotsman. Look for Federer to jump out of the blocks early and then a cagey Murray fight back to set up a grandsrand finale. I think Fed will take this one out in three.
Suggested Bet - Take Federer to win the opening set. He has flown out of the blocks in every match this week (4 times) and is sure to make his presence felt again against Murray here.
