Men's Quarter Finals

QF1: Roger Federer vs. Tomas Berdych (Head to Head - Federer leads 7-2)

This match promises to be a cracker. Federer after having an early scare in the 1st Round against Falla, has come through the draw pretty well, impressing in his straight sets win over Jurgen Melzer in the 4th Round. Berdych has had a pretty tough run of his own. After winning his first two matches easily, it then took a marathon five set win over Dennis Istomin to get him through to the 4th Round, where then he accounted for German Daniel Brands in four sets. They've met once this year, in Miami which Berdych won in 3 sets. However, I'm going for Federer in this one. I think he's just starting to peak now.

Federer in 4 - $1.18

QF2:
Novak Djokovic vs. Yen-Hsun Lu (Head to Head - Djokovic leads 2-0)

Both players had tough 4th Round wins. Djokovic beating Lleyton Hewitt in four sets, and Lu in a marathon five setter against Andy Roddick. Apart from Roddick, Lu has had a pretty soft run. The only other player of note he beat was Florian Mayer (who knocked Marin Cilic out). Djokovic on the other hand had a tough 1st Round win over Olivier Rochus, but is playing some decent tennis. The two have met twice before with Novak winning both and I do think that will continue, with Novak being too strong for Lu.

Djokovic in 3 - $1.14

QF3: Jo-Wilfred Tsonga vs. Andy Murray (Head to Head - Murray leads 2-1)

After a tough start to his 2010 Wimbledon run, Jo-Wilfred Tsonga has only gotten better as the tournament has progressed. After tough opening wins over Robert Kendrick and Alexandr Dolgopolov in a marathon five setter, he then breezed through his next two matches, despite dropping a set to compatriot Julien Benneteau. That was merely a blip on the radar. As for Murray, he's come through the draw extremely well. Disposing of reasonably easy opposition in the progress. Nieminen and Simon for instance, certainly aren't at their best on grass. You could make the same argument for Sam Querrey, who made it to the 4th Round of Wimbledon for the first time. They've met on three occasions, with Murray leading the head to head 2-1, however, this will be their first meeting in 2010. Tsonga won the only match between the two at a Grand Slam, that being the 2008 Australian Open which Tsonga won in four sets and ended up making the Final. I think Murray will be the fresher of the two, and will win in a long match.

Murray in 5 - $1.28

QF4: Robin Soderling vs. Rafael Nadal (Head to Head - Nadal leads 4-2)

Like Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal struggled early in this tournament. Twice being pushed to five sets and coincidentally in both, falling two sets to one down. In his 4th Round match though, Nadal bounced back with a comfortable straight sets win over Frenchmen Paul-Henri Mathieu. Robin Soderling on the other hand, after coming through the first three round easily, all in straight sets, he was then pushed to the limit by David Ferrer, winning in five sets. The two have met on six occasions (Nadal leading 4-2), with four having been at Grand Slams. Three times at the French Open, 2006 where Nadal won in straight sets, 2009 which is where the giant killing run of Rafael Nadal at the French Open came to an end, and then this year, in the Final of the French Open, where Nadal came out victorious, again in straight sets. The one meeting at Wimbledon between the two coming in 2007, with Nadal winning in five sets. There's also no love lost between the two, with that match in 2007 causing some heat between the two when Soderling impersonated a Nadal and pulled his underwear from his behind. As for the match itself, I still can't go past Nadal. I think for Soderling to win, not only does he have to serve amazingly well, but he's got to be hitting that forehand amazingly well. But, I think Nadal will rise to the occasion, and like Murray, will need the distance to see the end of Soderling.

Nadal in 5 - $1.60
