15 year old Brisbane boy, Clay Waterman tonight became the first Australian amateur to win a world championship boxing gold medal.
Competing in the 44-46kg class, Waterman, who was part of the Australian team to Kazakhstan, outclassed Iraqi favourite, Kadhim Sahm, 14-13, to become Australia's first ever World Amateur Boxing Championship.
